About our Organization

Project Surplus is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing waste and uplifting communities in need. By partnering with businesses and retailers across Atlanta, we rescue surplus goods that might otherwise go to waste and redirect them to non-profits making a meaningful impact.

Since our inception in 2023, we’ve partnered with various non-profit organizations, including Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Atlanta Mission, Mary Hall Freedom Village, Creating Connected Communities, CURE Childhood Cancer, Aurora Day Camps, Orbit Theatre, and Pebble Tossers.

Our mission and vision

At Project Surplus, our mission is to bridge the gap between retailers and redistribute their excess goods to local non-profits in the Atlanta area.

Our impact so far

Reducing waste while empowering non-profits to expand their reach and serve more individuals and families in Atlanta.

Together, we’re creating a ripple effect of kindness and sustainability.

Our Story

Project Surplus was born from a simple realization: retailers often throw away surplus goods instead of donating them.

While fundraising for an event, I walked into a store for a small donation and walked out with two pallets of new products. This inspired me to offer these goods to local non-profits, and the response was incredible. What started with one store in 2023 has now grown to four, and I’ve secured a space where non-profits can "shop" for free.

That’s when I founded Project Surplus—a non-profit connecting retailers with local organizations to provide essential goods at no cost.

I’m passionate about making a tangible impact on both the environment and our local community. With over 20 years of experience in fundraising and building connections, I’m excited to expand Project Surplus’ network and continue supporting our community’s needs.
